Summary:
The Six Flags Flagship Park. One huge place, wear your most comfortable shoes! Lots of great rides, world-class coasters, food and games. You won't run out of things to do at this park. Arrive at least 30-45 minutes before the park opens to get a good parking spot. Parking rates are very expensive, so be sure to budget at least $10-12. Special Season Pass parking area and gate speeds up park admission and is a great season pass perk! Superman is the newest coaster in the park and offers riders the thrill of flying. Nitro is a great out and back coaster that packs speed and airtime into a really great ride. Be sure to hit Superman and Chiller first, then head to the other rides.

Comments:  Great Adventure rarely races both sides of this coaster. New paint was applied in 2003. SF does not grease this ride, so it screaches loudly around turns. Could be a great coaster if it was properly greased and maintained. Features two distinctly different tracks and 10 hills each.

Skull Mountain
Type:  Steel - Twister, Indoor Themed Height:  41 Feet Train Type:  28 Passenger
Designer:  Intamin Drop:  37 Feet # of Trains:  3

Ride Time:    Length:  1,377 Feet # of Inversions:   0
Color:    G-Force:    Other:
Comments:  Hmm… We think this ride was victim of severe budget cuts during construction. Before opening, it seemed that it was to be elaborately themed inside. Unfortunately, there is nothing inside but pitch blackness. No sounds, no lights, no nothing. Ride in the back row for some excellent airtime over the first drop.

Superman: Ultimate Flight
Type:  Steel - Flying Height:  115 Feet Train Type:  32 Passenger
Designer:  B&M Drop:  100 Feet # of Trains:  2
Year Built:  2003 Top Speed:  60 MPH Elements:  Pretzel-Shaped Inverted Loop, HorseShoe, Spiral, In-line Roll
Ride Time:  3 Minutes Length:  2,759 Feet # of Inversions:   2
Color:  Red, Blue Yellow G-Force:    Other:  1,500 Hourly Capacity
Comments:  Probably the smoothest and most enjoyable of the flying coasters. B&M has done a really nice engineering job and the seats and restraints are very comfortable. The Pretzel Loop is incredible and gives thrills right off the bat, but the rest of the ride seems to lack the same thrill. Overall though, the ride is still worth the wait!

Comments:  World's first standard roller coaster to perform a 360 degree heartline spin. This coaster is very fast and intense, but also rough. This ride may leave Great Adventure in the next few years, so get your rides in now…
