HERSHEYPARK ANNOUNCES CHANGES
AND ADDITIONS FOR THE 2005 SEASON
HERSHEY, PA. The following attraction changes and additions are announced for the 2005 Hersheypark operating season.
Major changes are underway in the area formerly known as the Carousel Circle section of the Park. The area had been the planned home for the previously announced new drop coaster, Turbulence, for the 2005 season. But due to the ride manufacturer’s refusal to provide the ride as specified in its contract, Park officials were forced to develop alternate plans.
Carrousel Circle will be renamed Founder’s Circle, and renovated to create a great sense of nostalgia as a classic gathering point for guests to the Park. The renovated Founder’s Circle will welcome the reintroduction of two classic Hersheypark rides, Balloon Flite and Starship America - two great family attractions. The area will be highlighted by the statute of Milton S. Hershey and historic carousel, along with an abundance of new flowering baskets, lush plantings and shade arbors.
Additionally, in the tradition of the outstanding and award winning entertainment at
Hersheypark, a new musical is being produced, called “the Milkmen.” This new production in Hersheypark’s musical salute to one of the key ingredients in the famous Hershey’s Chocolate: MILK!
“Although plans for Turbulence had been eagerly anticipated, guests will find these additions are in keeping with Hersheypark’s reputation as the leader in family fun and entertainment,” said General Manager Frank O’Connell. “We continue to provide something for every member of the family. We’ve also enhanced this nostalgic area by providing a pleasant venue for our guests who want to relax in a beautifully landscaped environment.”
Hersheypark is scheduled to open its 2005 operating season on May 7, 2005.

Theme Park's Ads Accidentally Give Sex Hotline Number
POSTED: 8:07 a.m. EST March 17, 2004
TAMPA, Fla. -- Busch Gardens may be a lot of fun -- but it's not the "Pleasure Zone."
The Tampa theme park sent out marketing fliers with the wrong phone number. Park spokesman Gerard Hoeppner said instead of reaching Busch Gardens, callers got the Pleasure Zone -- a recorded sex line.
Hoeppner called it human error.
He said the typo was off by a single digit. The park is mailing a letter to patrons to apologize. But the spokesman added that only a handful of people called to complain.
